EP 207: How Do We Find And Foster Our Inner Warrior? - US Navy Seal Ray "Cash" Care

Don't make excuses, make solutions

Ray “Cash” Care is a 12-year veteran of the US Navy, ten years of which were spent serving as a member of the SEAL teams. Today he works with first responders, professional teams, and athletes. Ray infuses his direct, honest, and to the point training with real-life experiences which cannot be learned from books. In this show, we cover the physical and mental fortitude of a SEAL. Ray is the motivator, educator, and decimator. He believes that together we can do anything we set our minds to and lives by the motto "don't make excuses, make solutions."

Here's what we discuss in this week's show:
  • When people ask Ray what he does, what does he like to say?
  • Ray has described himself as an ambassador of life, what is that?
  • Johnny Cash’s father was Ray Cash, is there a connection?
  • Ray had an identity built around being a SEAL. How does he see his identity as a man today?
  • Ray works to decimate people. What’s the psychology behind that approach?
  • What is the FROG mindset?
  • Ray admits he was not born smart, how does he actively pursue learning today?
  • Everyone has a battlefield. How does Ray see the corporate battlefield?
  • Facing his demons from his past
  • What does Ray wish he could have told his Dad?
  • In the teams it was team first, then you. How’s that for Ray today?
  • Ray's wife Trisha pulled him up and said “everyone is not against you.” Where does that come from?
  • Ray talks about the SEALS wife.
  • How does Ray deal with his loneliness today?
  • Do kids need a sense of discomfort to enable them to deal with life’s challenges?
  • Where do we find and foster our inner warrior?
  • Was there a moment where Ray proved himself that he had more to give than he thought possible?

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!”
― Hunter S. Thompson, The Proud Highway: Saga of a Desperate Southern Gentleman, 1955-1967
